Desserts tend to be the weight loss management demons, as part of my healthy filling meals series I wanted to offer you a decadent apple tart to enjoy guilt free. Because you really need to eat to lose weight, including dessert!
The secret of this tart is to try to “caramelize” or “toast” the apple using as less butter and sugar as possible. It is a sort of “Tarte Tatin” but with many less calories!!!!
How to “caramelize” the apple
Melt the butter with the powdered sugar at low heat in the baking round pan. As soon as the butter starts melting turn the heat to high and add the fruit. Start mixing the fruit non stopping and at high heat until you can see that it is starting to toast. Remove the pan from heat.
What you Need
Yield: Serves 6
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon of powdered sugar
Fruit. Enough to fill a medium round bake container; 4 apples or 4 pears, or 2 mangoes or 1 pound (500 grams) of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries

Peel and cut the fruit into medium pieces
“Caramelize” the fruit in the bake container as explained before

Turn the cake into a deep plate to serve with the fruit upside
Serve with some vanilla ice cream if you have kept enough treats for the occasion.
Make sure that you reserve the carbs of your meals for the dessert. You can learn more about weight loss management friendly menu plans here.
